Assistant Director (DevOps) — Role Summary
The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) invites applications from dynamic professionals for Assistant Director (DevOps), based in Islamabad. This is a high-impact role supporting national-scale digital services. The successful candidate will help architect, automate, and operate resilient, secure, and observable infrastructure that underpins citizen-facing platforms.
You will collaborate with application, security, database, and networking teams to deliver fast, reliable releases through automated pipelines, containerized workloads, and infrastructure-as-code. You’ll standardize deployment patterns, maintain build and release tooling, and champion best practices for performance, reliability, and security across production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with robust testing, security checks, and release governance.
- Administer Git-based workflows (branching, reviews, tagging) and manage build artifacts and releases.
- Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible/Chef/Puppet.
- Containerize applications and operate Docker/Kubernetes clusters with effective scaling, networking, secrets management, and RBAC.
- Implement event and message streaming using RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Apache Kafka.
- Support and optimize data platforms: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis (backups, HA, observability).
- Script automation in Python/Java/Bash/Ruby to eliminate toil and improve reliability.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting; drive SLO/SLI metrics and incident response playbooks.
- Enforce security baselines, secrets management, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Produce clear documentation and mentor teams on DevOps standards and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum 16 years of education, HEC-verified) in CS/SE/IT or equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Preferably 3+ years post-qualification experience in running and managing production DevOps operations at scale.
- Certifications (preferred): CKAD, CKS, Chef or related DevOps/Kubernetes credentials.
