About the Role

The Assistant Manager Supply Chain role at the National Forensics Agency (NFA), Ministry of Interior, is a high-impact leadership position that keeps Pakistan’s public forensic laboratories running smoothly. As Assistant Manager Supply Chain, you will plan and execute PPRA-compliant procurement, manage strategic vendor relationships, maintain precise inventory levels, and ensure timely availability of critical equipment, consumables, and services that underpin scientific investigations nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end, PPRA-compliant sourcing for scientific equipment, reagents, IT, and services—drafting RFPs/RFQs, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Build and manage annual procurement plans, aligning demand forecasts with budget approvals and delivery lead times.
  • Oversee inventory planning and control across NFA labs, maintaining optimal stock levels, batch traceability, and calibrated asset records.
  • Implement vendor performance management (OTIF, quality, warranty/after-sales support) with corrective action follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with finance for purchase scheduling, GRNs, three-way matching, and timely payments against milestones.
  • Maintain auditable documentation, contract registers, and tender files to meet internal and external scrutiny.
  • Drive process improvements (SOPs, checklists, templates), reducing total cost of ownership while improving compliance and service levels.
  • Support audit queries, technical evaluations, and cross-functional working groups for lab readiness and continuity.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree (16 years) in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or equivalent from an HEC-recognized institution.
  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years in Government/PSDP projects or public sector entities with demonstrable procurement and inventory leadership in technical environments; public forensics lab experience is strongly preferred.
  • Regulatory: Strong working knowledge of PPRA Rules with relevant certification.
  • Skills:
    • Budgeting and resource optimization
    • Vendor negotiation and contract management
    • Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Data-driven decision-making, report writing, and excellent communication
  • Personal Attributes: Integrity, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and stakeholder management.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Monthly Salary (gross): PKR 200,000 – 250,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Location

Primary duty station is Islamabad with coordination across partner and stakeholder facilities as required.

  • Islamabad Capital Territory – H-11/4 (Primary)
  • Rawalpindi, Punjab – Field coordination as required
  • Lahore, Punjab – Partner liaison as required
  • Karachi, Sindh – Vendor/port logistics as required
