Eligibility (as per service rules)
- Basic Medical Qualification: MBBS or equivalent recognized by PMDC/PMC; valid registration required.
- Postgraduate Qualification (any one):
- FCPS/MS/FRCS/Diplomat American Board in Paediatric Neurosurgery, OR
- FCPS/MS/FRCS/Diplomat American Board in Paediatric Surgery/General Surgery + 1 year post-grad experience in Paediatric Neurosurgery, OR
- FCPS/MS/FRCS/Diplomat American Board in Neurosurgery + 1 year post-grad experience in Paediatric Neurosurgery (as recognized by PMDC/PMC).
- Experience: Three (03) years post-graduation experience in Paediatric Neurosurgery in an institution recognized by PMDC/PMC.
- Notes/Regulatory: Valid full PMC/PMDC registration (post-grad qualification shown) required on/before closing date; research papers & documentation rules apply as per SHC&ME/PPSC notice.
Skills Requirements
- Clinical: advanced paediatric neurosurgical operative skills; ICU and peri-operative management; clinical audit.
- Teaching: undergraduate & postgraduate instruction; curriculum-aligned lesson planning; bedside teaching.
- Research: maintain portfolio per PMDC/PMC standards; contribute to departmental research output.
- Administration: rota planning, case documentation, morbidity & mortality meetings; compliance with hospital SOPs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized paediatric neurosurgical care and participate in emergency/on-call schedules.
- Teach and supervise trainees (FCPS/MS residents/house officers) and participate in assessments.
- Lead/assist in research, audits, and QA activities in line with institutional policies.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary conferences, patient counseling, and referral pathways.
