Role Summary
Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) invites applications for Associate Professor (Electrophysiology) — BS-19 on a regular basis in the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department. This senior faculty position suits physician-educators who combine advanced electrophysiology expertise with a strong academic record and a commitment to teaching, research, and clinical leadership.
As Associate Professor, you will lead electrophysiology services and teaching in a major public-sector medical university/college or attached teaching hospital in Punjab. Eligibility Pathways (Education & Experience)
You can qualify through either of the following equivalent routes:
Route A (Direct Specialty):
- MBBS or equivalent, and
- FCPS/MS/MRCP/MD/Diplomate of American Board in Electrophysiology (or equivalent) recognized by PM&DC/PMC.
— OR —
Route B (Cardiology + Electrophysiology Experience):
- MBBS or equivalent, and
- FCPS/MS/MRCP/MD/Diplomate of American Board in Cardiology (or equivalent) recognized by PM&DC/PMC, and
- Three (3) years post-qualification experience in Electrophysiology.
In addition to either route, the post requires:
- Five (5) years teaching experience as Assistant Professor of Electrophysiology (or equivalent) from a PM&DC/PMC-recognized institution, and
- Three (3) research papers produced as Assistant Professor of Electrophysiology and published in a standard medical journal (recognized and indexed as per PM&DC/PMC/HEC criteria).
For ease of comparison, these combine to at least 96 months of relevant post-qualification/teaching experience across the above requirements.
