About the Role
The Duplicate Machine Operator at the National Forensics Agency (NFA), Ministry of Interior & Narcotics Control, is the hands-on specialist who keeps high-volume document reproduction running flawlessly. As a Duplicate Machine Operator, you’ll handle copying, printing, binding, and lamination for secure case files, SOPs, training booklets, and technical documentation that support Pakistan’s public forensic laboratories. You’ll also perform routine maintenance on photocopiers, keep consumables stocked, and maintain meticulous logs so every print job is traceable, compliant, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate high-volume duplicating/photocopier machines to produce case files, reports, and technical manuals according to specifications.
- Set up and adjust machines for paper sizes, duplexing, collation, finishing, and quantity—ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Perform binding and lamination to archival standards; label, batch, and package output for secure dispatch.
- Conduct basic repair/maintenance: cleaning, roller replacement, jam clearance, toner/drum changes, and routine calibrations.
- Monitor and replenish consumables (paper, toner, covers, binding spines) and raise timely requisitions to avoid downtime.
- Maintain records of copies produced, supplies used, service/maintenance logs, and job tickets for audit and quality assurance.
- Observe confidentiality and chain-of-custody protocols for sensitive forensic documents.
- Coordinate with admin/technical teams to prioritize urgent prints supporting lab operations and field coordination.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Middle Pass (at minimum).
- Experience: 12+ years of hands-on experience in a Public Forensic Lab or similar government technical environment operating duplicating/photocopier machines.
- Technical Skills: Binding and lamination expertise; basic photocopier troubleshooting and preventive upkeep; ability to read work orders and adhere to formatting/finishing specs.
- Tools & Safety: Familiarity with safe handling of equipment, heat/lamination devices, and proper storage of papers/consumables.
- Personal Attributes: Reliability, attention to detail, integrity, and strong time management in a fast-paced, confidential setting.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 50 years (general relaxation as per Federal Government rules).
Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly Salary (gross): PKR 60,000 – 90,000, commensurate with experience and Government policy for the grade.
- Contract appointment on merit, with benefits as per applicable rules.
