Positions & Qualifications
- Title: Emergency Medicine Specialist
- Number of Posts: 02
- Qualification: MBBS with FCPS (Emergency Medicine) or MRCEM (or equivalent foreign qualification) recognized by PMDC.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in Emergency Medicine.
Note on clarity: Where some notices write “FOPS,” the intended requirement is FCPS (Emergency Medicine). Equivalent foreign qualifications (e.g., MRCEM) are accepted when recognized by PMDC.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead rapid assessment and stabilization for undifferentiated emergencies across adult and adolescent patients.
- Direct ACLS/ATLS/PALS-aligned resuscitations, manage airway and ventilatory support, and coordinate time-critical interventions.
- Interpret diagnostics (labs, ECGs, imaging summaries) and document clear, actionable plans.
- Supervise medical officers/house staff; coordinate with nursing, radiology, ICU, cardiology, surgery, and ancillary teams.
- Ensure meticulous documentation within EMR, including handovers and discharge/transfer summaries.
- Participate in quality improvement, case audits, and morbidity/mortality reviews.
- Uphold infection control, medication safety, transfusion, and incident reporting protocols per hospital SOPs.
