The Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA), Home Department, Government of the Punjab, invites online applications from eminent forensic scientists and academic leaders for the executive post of Additional Director General (Forensics) on a Special Pay Package at its state-of-the-art forensic complex in Lahore.
Executive Role and Strategic Forensic Oversight
The Additional Director General (Forensics) serves as the senior scientific executive providing strategic technical leadership across all 14 specialized forensic disciplines at PFSA. Major responsibilities include:
- Directing high-complexity scientific forensic analyses and ensuring full ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation compliance.
- Supervising forensic section directors, laboratory quality assurance systems, and validation of emerging forensic technologies.
- Guiding complex criminal casework reviews, expert witness court testimonies, and high-profile disaster victim identification (DVI) operations.
- Leading institutional forensic research, scientific publications, and international collaboration with forensic academies.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, or Molecular Biology with an M.Sc. in a relevant scientific field from an HEC-recognized university. Candidates must demonstrate at least seven (07) years of relevant professional working experience and possess a minimum of seven (07) scientific research publications in peer-reviewed journals. The age limit is 42 to 55 years (relaxable as per Punjab Government rules). Candidates must hold Punjab domicile.
Remuneration and Service Terms
The position carries a lucrative Special Pay Package of Rs. 1,100,000/- per month. Appointments are made on a contract basis for three (03) years (renewable) under the Contract Appointment Policy 2004 of the Government of the Punjab.
