Role Overview and Clinical/Academic Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor of Maternal & Child Health conducts postgraduate training in maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), reproductive health epidemiology, and infant nutrition programs. Duties include supervising clinical field surveys, analyzing maternal and infant mortality data across Punjab districts, collaborating with vertical health programs (LHW, IRMNCH), and publishing clinical epidemiological studies.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility Nuances
Candidates must hold an MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by PM&DC, with advanced postgraduate credentials in Maternal & Child Health (PhD, Dr.P.H, MD, M.Phil, or FCPS) and 3 years of teaching or field experience. Domicile of Punjab is required. Age limit is up to 50 years for males and 53 years for females.
Nature of Appointment and Terms
Contractual appointment under Punjab Contract Appointment Policy 2004 for an initial duration of 2 years, extendable upon satisfactory performance.
