Institutional Context & Operational Scope
Aircraft Technicians at BAC provide hands-on mechanical, airframe, and powerplant maintenance support during flight operations and scheduled hangar overhauls. They work under the direct guidance of licensed aircraft engineers, ensuring that all ground handling, aircraft cleaning, tool control, and mechanical repairs meet stringent ANO 145 quality requirements.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Assist licensed engineers in conducting routine airframe inspections, lubrication, filter replacements, and tire servicing.
- Support engine runs, ground marshalling, aircraft towing, and hangar positioning protocols.
- Operate ground power units (GPU), hydraulic test rigs, and technical ground service equipment safely.
- Maintain strict tool calibration, workshop tidiness, and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention protocols.
- Participate in component removal, overhaul staging, and technical installation under certified engineering supervision.
