Institutional Context & Operational Scope
The Chief Engineer serves as the accountable technical executive overseeing the entire continuing airworthiness management organisation (CAMO) and Part-145 maintenance facilities for the BAC fleet. The post ensures all fixed-wing jets, utility turboprops, and rotary-wing helicopters are maintained to peak safety, manufacturer specifications, and airworthiness directives issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Direct and supervise comprehensive aircraft maintenance operations, scheduled hangar checks, and unscheduled defect rectifications.
- Oversee airworthiness management, airworthiness directives (ADs), service bulletins (SBs), and engineering documentation.
- Manage maintenance personnel, type-rated engineers, and technical technicians to guarantee flawless quality assurance standards.
- Interface authoritatively with PCAA regulatory authorities, aircraft manufacturers, and approved parts suppliers.
- Formulate maintenance budgets, spare parts provisioning strategies, and ground support equipment readiness protocols.
