Institutional Context & Operational Scope
The Flight Dispatcher shares joint responsibility with the pilot-in-command for flight planning, route selection, fuel requirement calculations, and operational flight control. Working inside the BAC flight operations center, the dispatcher monitors live weather conditions, NOTAMs, air traffic clearances, and aircraft status to ensure safe and punctual operations.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Compute navigational flight plans, fuel requirements, payload restrictions, and optimum flight trajectories.
- Analyze meteorological data, SIGMETs, terminal aerodrome forecasts (TAF), and NOTAMs prior to each flight release.
- Coordinate with PCAA air traffic control units for flight plan filings, slot allocations, and diplomatic/VIP overflight clearances.
- Maintain continuous communication and flight watch tracking with airborne aircraft throughout provincial sectors.
- Manage dangerous goods handling compliance, passenger manifests, and emergency response activation protocols.
