The University of Gujrat (UOG) invites applications from experienced, qualified male candidates having Punjab domicile for the position of Bus Driver (BPS-08) on a contract basis to support university transport and student shuttle operations at Hafiz Hayat Campus, Gujrat.
Role Overview and Transport Operations Responsibilities
Bus Drivers at the University of Gujrat are responsible for operating university passenger buses along designated campus and inter-city student/faculty transport routes across Gujrat and surrounding districts. Key duties include:
- Safely transporting university students, faculty members, and administrative staff on scheduled daily routes.
- Conducting pre-trip vehicle inspections including oil, coolant, brake fluid, tire pressure, and lights.
- Ensuring passenger safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and safe driving in all weather conditions.
- Maintaining vehicle logbooks, reporting mechanical faults to the transport officer, and supervising routine bus servicing.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be literate and possess a valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) driving license issued by the competent licensing authority, accompanied by at least five (05) years of heavy passenger vehicle driving experience. The age bracket is 25 to 40 years (relaxable as per Government of the Punjab rules). Only candidates holding a valid Punjab domicile are eligible to apply.
Nature of Appointment
Appointments will be made purely on a contract basis under standard University of Gujrat recruitment policies and terms. Engaging on a contract does not confer any title to permanent regular appointment.
