Punjab Grid Company Limited (PGCL), a public sector entity fully owned by the Government of the Punjab under the Energy Department, invites applications from high-caliber energy leaders for the executive leadership position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) based in Lahore.
Role Overview and Executive Leadership Responsibilities
The Chief Executive Officer reports directly to the Board of Directors and provides strategic vision, executive leadership, and operational management to establish and expand electricity transmission infrastructure across Punjab. Primary responsibilities include implementing strategic development plans, extending provincial grid networks, meeting performance targets established by the Board and Provincial Government, liaising with the regulator, federal entities, provincial bodies, and private investors, and guiding the utility's transition under the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM) framework.
Candidate Profile and Statutory Criteria
Candidates must hold at minimum a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an HEC-recognized institution, with preference for a Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business/Project Management. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of twenty years of post-qualification power sector experience, including at least five years at senior management level as CEO or reporting directly to the CEO. Significant professional background in electricity transmission utilities, EPC contract administration, grid regulatory compliance, and tariff filings is strongly preferred. Candidates must fulfill the "Fit and Proper" criteria prescribed under the Public Sector Companies (Appointment of Chief Executive) Guidelines, 2015. The upper age limit is 62 years at the time of advertisement.
Nature of Appointment and Terms
The appointment will be made on a contract basis in accordance with the PGCL General Conditions of Service and Appointment and Public Sector Company regulatory guidelines.
Salary and Executive Remuneration
The post offers a lump-sum monthly salary package ranging between PKR 1,200,000 and PKR 2,000,000, commensurate with qualifications, executive standing, and industry track record.
