The Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Government of the Punjab invites applications from qualified clinical cardiology specialists across Pakistan for the post of Consultant (Cardiology) at Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology (NSIC), Sargodha.
Clinical Responsibilities and Cardiovascular Care
The Consultant Cardiologist plays a central role in delivering tertiary-level cardiovascular medical care, emergency cardiology triage, and inpatient clinical management at NSIC Sargodha. Core duties include:
- Managing acute coronary syndromes, hypertensive emergencies, heart failure, and complex arrhythmias in cardiac wards and CCU.
- Interpreting non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostics including echocardiography, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and ambulatory blood pressure studies.
- Conducting outpatient clinical consultations and establishing tailored cardiovascular therapeutic protocols.
- Collaborating with interventional cardiology teams, cardiac surgeons, and intensive care units to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
- Participating actively in institutional clinical audits, postgraduate training, and academic research activities.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility Nuances
Candidates must possess an MBBS degree along with FCPS, MD, MRCP (with CCT), or Diplomate of American Board in Cardiology recognized by PM&DC / PMC, supported by at least three (03) years of post-qualification clinical experience. Applicants must have at least two (02) original research papers published in PM&DC / HEC recognized indexed journals. Candidates from all over Pakistan are eligible to apply.
Nature of Appointment and Terms
Appointment is offered on a non-statutory lump-sum contract basis for a period of three (03) years. Institutional private practice is permitted within the premises of NSIC as per approved institutional regulations; private practice outside the institute is strictly prohibited.
