Working within the diagnostic imaging wing, the Dark Room Attendant assists radiographers and radiologists by managing imaging cassettes, coordinating patient transit into X-ray suites, and preserving orderly processing workflows in busy emergency imaging shifts.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Assist diagnostic radiographers in shuttling X-ray cassettes between examination cubicles and chemical developing processing units.
- Maintain absolute cleanliness, dust-free conditions, and organized layout inside the radiographic darkroom facility.
- Ensure that diagnostic cassettes, intensifying screens, and film hangers are wiped clean and ready for immediate clinician use.
- Deliver finalized diagnostic X-ray films to emergency wards, surgical outpatient departments, and attending consultants.
- Help radiographers position mobility-impaired patients comfortably onto radiological examination tables.
