Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Sort contaminated, soiled, and routine hospital linens, segregating infectious ward textiles for specialized sanitizing wash cycles.
- Operate heavy-duty industrial washing machines, hydro-extractors, and rotary dryers using approved hospital laundry chemicals.
- Iron, fold, and bundle sanitized bed sheets, pillowcases, doctor coats, and surgical drapes into neat inventory stacks.
- Coordinate the daily distribution of fresh linen bundles to inpatient wards, ICUs, and emergency surgical theaters.
- Inspect hospital linen inventory for tears, burns, or excessive wear, reporting replacement needs to the laundry supervisor.
