Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is hiring for the position of Driver (BPS-09) within the central transport pool at the Main Campus in Islamabad under reference PID(I)2823/26.
Role Overview and Operational Duties
The Driver (BPS-09) operates heavy and light institutional vehicles, staff transport buses, and operational vans. Responsibilities include transporting faculty, examination materials, and official university delegations, maintaining daily fuel and route logs, inspecting engine fluids, tire pressure, and brake systems, and ensuring optimal vehicle upkeep.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility Nuances
Applicants must be literate (Middle or Matric preferred) and possess a valid HTV/PSV driving license backed by at least 10 years of light and heavy vehicle operational driving in a public sector organization or university setting. The age limit is up to 30 years including 5 years general relaxation.
Nature of Appointment and Terms
The post is offered on a regular/contract basis under AIOU service rules. The appointee will report to the Transport Section in Sector H-8, Islamabad.
