Electricians are responsible for uninterrupted power distribution, backup diesel generators, switchboards, and electrical fixture repairs throughout hospital blocks.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring networks, distribution panels, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures across hospital wards and clinics.
- Monitor and operate high-capacity emergency standby diesel generators during municipal power outages to ensure zero downtime in ICUs.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in diagnostic rooms, sterilization autoclaves, water heaters, and surgical theater auxiliary consoles.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on uninterruptible power supply (UPS) banks and battery arrays supporting critical patient care units.
- Enforce strict electrical safety protocols to eliminate short circuits, spark hazards, and equipment overloads across all medical blocks.
