The Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA) invites applications for four (04) positions of Forensic Scientist (Pathology & Histology) on a Special Pay Package at PFSA Lahore.
Histopathological Examination and Laboratory Duties
The scientist analyzes post-mortem tissue specimens in medicolegal investigations. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting gross tissue trimming, processing, embedding, and microtome sectioning of post-mortem specimens.
- Evaluating H&E stained slides and specialized immunohistochemical stains under polarized and light microscopy.
- Identifying cellular pathology, myocardial infarction timing, pulmonary embolism, drowning markers, and fatal trauma.
- Drafting detailed histopathological forensic reports and consulting with medical examiners.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility
Candidates must hold an MBBS recognized by PMDC with a postgraduate Level III qualification (Ph.D./FCPS/MRC/American Board) and 2 years experience, OR a Level II M.Phil in Pathology/Histopathology/Microbiology with 4 years experience. Age bracket: 30 to 40 years. Domicile: Punjab.
Salary and Appointment Terms
The post offers Rs. 375,000/- per month + 10% annual increase (half salary during training) on a 3-year renewable contract.
