Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Infection Preventionist will champion patient safety, hospital hygiene, and epidemiological surveillance across specialized clinical areas, transplant intensive care units, and surgical suites. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting active surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and tracking surgical site infection metrics.
- Monitoring and evaluating compliance with hand hygiene, sterilization, environmental cleaning, and isolation protocols.
- Investigating suspected infection outbreaks and recommending evidence-based containment measures.
- Delivering ongoing infection control training and educational sessions for healthcare workers, nursing personnel, and clinical support staff.
- Collaborating closely with the Infection Control Committee, clinical microbiologists, and hospital leadership to maintain international patient care standards.
Candidate Profile & Key Criteria
Applicants must possess an active and valid AHPC or PNMC professional license. Candidates with specialized certification or diploma credentials in Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) will be given preference. Documented clinical exposure in hospital infection control programs, microbiology laboratories, or critical care nursing is highly valued. Candidates must fall within the advertised age bracket of 18 to 62 years as of the application closing date.
