The Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA) invites online applications for the position of Junior Forensic Scientist (Computer Forensic) on a Special Pay Package at PFSA Lahore.
Digital Forensics and Cyber Evidence Acquisition
The Junior Scientist conducts forensic imaging and data extraction from digital storage media and mobile devices. Duties include:
- Performing bit-stream forensic imaging of hard drives, SSDs, flash drives, and mobile devices using write-blockers.
- Recovering deleted files, encrypted containers, internet histories, and multimedia evidence using forensic suites (EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite).
- Extracting call logs, chat transcripts, and location metadata from cellular smartphones.
- Documenting digital forensic chain of custody and assisting senior forensic scientists in reporting.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility
Candidates must hold an MS/M.Phil. or B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer System Engineering from an HEC-recognized university. Age bracket: 23 to 35 years. Domicile: Punjab Province.
Salary and Appointment Terms
Special Pay Package of Rs. 200,000/- per month + 10% annual increase (half salary during training) on a 3-year contract.
