Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Clean, wash, and sterilize laboratory test tubes, glass pipettes, petri dishes, and sampling containers using hot-air autoclaves.
- Receive clinical specimens from wards, verifying label accuracy against laboratory requisition slips before routing them to test benches.
- Replenish laboratory workbenches with distilled water, sample racks, disposable tips, and disinfectant wipes regularly.
- Safely package and dispose of laboratory biohazard waste, sharps, and spent reagents according to hospital biosafety standards.
- Assist pathologists and technologists by archiving archived specimen slides and maintaining spotless counter cleanliness.
