The Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA) invites applications from experienced medical pathologists for the key role of Manager (Pathology & Histology) on a Special Pay Package at PFSA Lahore.
Charter of Duties and Medico-Legal Responsibilities
The Manager (Pathology & Histology) directs post-mortem tissue examination, histopathological analysis, and forensic autopsy consultations. Key duties include:
- Leading the Forensic Pathology & Histology unit in analyzing human tissues, organ sections, and biopsy specimens in unnatural death investigations.
- Determining microscopic cause of death, injury timing, disease pathology, and traumatic microscopic changes.
- Drafting conclusive forensic pathology reports and delivering expert testimony in criminal court trials.
- Ensuring quality control in tissue processing, staining, immunohistochemistry, and slide digitization.
Candidate Profile and Professional Criteria
Applicants must possess an MBBS degree recognized by PMDC/PMC, coupled with a postgraduate Level III qualification (Ph.D., FCPS, MRC, or American Board in Pathology, Histopathology, or Microbiology) and 4 years of laboratory experience, OR a Level II M.Phil with 6 years of reputable pathology laboratory experience. Age bracket: 40 to 55 years. Domicile: Punjab.
Remuneration and Nature of Engagement
The post offers a monthly Special Pay Package of Rs. 750,000/- per month with a 10% annual increment on a 3-year renewable contract.
