The Deputy Superintendent oversees electromechanical facility systems, ensuring 99.999% uptime through proactive maintenance of uninterrupted power supplies, precision cooling, fire suppression systems, and automated building management systems.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Supervise 24/7 operation, monitoring, inspection, and preventative maintenance of critical data center infrastructure.
- Manage high-capacity Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, power distribution modules (PDUs), LT/ATS panels, and diesel generators.
- Monitor precision cooling, HVAC chilling units, cold/hot aisle containment, and ambient environmental parameters.
- Utilize Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools to track power usage effectiveness (PUE) and facility load profiles.
- Direct emergency troubleshooting during power transients, HVAC failure, or environmental alarm triggers.
Eligibility Criteria & Candidate Qualifications
Requires DAE in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized technical board with at least 5 years of verifiable data center facility experience. Maximum age is 35 years. The initial appointment includes a 6-month probationary period.
