The National Disaster Risk Management Fund is a non-profit company established under section 42 of the Companies Act 2017 to build disaster resilience and climate adaptation across Pakistan. The Analytics and Risk Modeling Unit develops advanced computational frameworks, web-based geospatial tools, and multi-hazard risk assessment databases that inform national disaster financing, early warning protocols, and infrastructural risk mitigation.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Develop, test, and deploy interactive full-stack WebGIS mapping applications, spatial data APIs, and spatial dashboards.
- Process high-resolution satellite imagery, topographic models, and meteorological datasets for multi-hazard risk modeling.
- Collaborate with national scientific agencies (PMD, FFC, GSP) to integrate flood, earthquake, drought, and landslide hazard scenarios.
- Manage spatial databases (PostGIS, GeoServer) and optimize geospatial analytics workflows hosted on cloud platforms.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, spatial analysis reports, and data visualization deliverables for donor-funded resilience initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria & Candidate Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Geoinformatics, GIS & Remote Sensing, Computer Science, or Geosciences with at least four years of verified experience in WebGIS development or hazard modeling. Tenure is initially for 3 years, extendable based on performance.
