The Health & Population Department, Government of the Punjab, is recruiting specialized eye care doctors for the post of Ophthalmologist under the Chief Minister Punjab Initiatives for Hospitals of Lahore. Hired consultants will serve under a Special Pay Package to deliver ophthalmic clinical and surgical services across Lahore hospitals.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The appointed Ophthalmologist will evaluate ocular pathologies, perform cataract extractions (phacoemulsification), glaucoma filtering surgeries, pterygium excisions, laser capsulotomies, and manage ocular trauma emergencies. Outpatient duties include comprehensive visual acuity assessments and diabetic retinopathy screenings.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility Nuances
Candidates must hold an MBBS with an FCPS, MS, or recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology from PMDC. Applicants must have proven clinical microsurgery skills and hold a valid PMDC license.
Nature of Appointment and Terms
The role is contractual under the Government of Punjab Special Pay Package. The engagement does not confer any entitlement to permanent civil service regularization.
