Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Assist theater nursing staff by cleaning and wiping down operating tables, instrument trolleys, and overhead surgical lights.
- Transport sterile surgical gowns, masks, gloves, and linen drums from the hospital Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).
- Help transfer post-operative patients carefully from operating tables to recovery stretchers under anesthetist guidance.
- Collect and remove used surgical containers, ensuring biohazardous waste is sealed and tagged according to medical regulations.
- Keep theater scrub areas fully stocked with antiseptic soap solutions, sterile towels, and surgical scrub brushes.
