The Assistant Director IT / Network Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining high-availability enterprise networks connecting airport terminals and operational airside facilities.
Core Responsibilities & Work Functions
The daily operational scope and functional deliverables for this role include:
- Manage and optimize enterprise core, distribution, and access network switches, routers, and firewalls across airport infrastructure.
- Implement resilient Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, VLANs, dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF), and IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack architectures.
- Monitor corporate airport networks 24/7 for latency anomalies, packet loss, hardware faults, and bandwidth congestion.
- Maintain perimeter network security, implement VPN connectivity, and configure intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to thwart cyber risks.
- Prepare technical network diagrams, disaster recovery procedures, and service level agreement (SLA) compliance reports.
