Key Responsibilities and Operational Scope
The Senior CAD Designer will oversee the creation, review, and verification of high-precision manufacturing documentation. Essential operational duties include:
- Developing and reviewing detailed 2D manufacturing shop drawings and advanced 3D CAD models for heavy mechanical components, complex assemblies, and industrial equipment.
- Ensuring mechanical designs strictly conform to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), material specifications, manufacturability assessments, and recognized engineering standards.
- Collaborating actively with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and assembly teams to resolve design interferences and implement engineering change orders.
- Maintaining structured CAD repositories, bills of materials (BOMs), drawing revisions, and revision-controlled design archives while mentoring junior draftsmen.
