Role Overview & Responsibilities
Tech-III personnel execute skilled technical maintenance and mechanical/electrical operations across institutional facilities. Trade-specific duties include:
- Electrician / Auto Electrician: Installing electrical wiring, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, vehicular wiring looms, alternators, and starter motors.
- Generator Operator / Motor Pump Attendant: Operating diesel gensets, water booster pumps, monitoring fuel/coolant levels, and recording runtime hours.
- Auto Mechanic: Diagnosing automotive engine faults, transmission overhauls, brake system maintenance, and preventative servicing.
- Plumber / Welder: Installing water distribution pipelines, drainage fixtures, sanitary fittings, gas lines, and arc/gas welding fabrication.
- Carpenter / Mason: Woodwork repairs, furniture refurbishment, brickwork, plastering, tile laying, and concrete patch repairs.
Candidate Profile & Eligibility Nuances
Civilian applicants must possess Matric (Science) in 2nd Division (minimum 50% marks) with either 6 years trade experience or a 1-year vocational certificate plus 5 years experience. Ex-servicemen with relevant military technical trade experience and exemplary character are also eligible. Candidates must clearly state their specific technical trade on the application.
Nature of Appointment & Terms
Appointments are on a contract basis with performance-based extensions up to superannuation, governed under the SPS-02 pay scale.
