Key responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on biosafety, GMO import/field trials, and related environmental rules and notifications.
  • Draft/vet MOUs, contracts, TORs, and SOPs; support rule-making and policy notes.
  • Liaise with ministries, regulators, and stakeholders; prepare briefs for litigation.
  • Maintain a repository of case law, statutory updates, and compliance trackers.
  • Train project staff on compliance and records management.

Required qualifications

  • LLB (minimum) from an HEC-recognized university.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience (Govt./Semi-Govt./reputable organizations).
  • Solid understanding of legal/policy issues in the federal government sector.
  • Strong drafting, vetting, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Salary & benefits

  • Pay Scale: PPS-7 (Project Pay Scale, lump-sum).
  • Indicative salary (Govt. standard for PPS-7): PKR 157,500/month (lump-sum), with annual increments as notified for PPS-7 roles. This is consistent with federal PPS notifications and recent federal ads quoting PKR 157,500 for PPS-7.
