- With a strong focus on library automation and data-driven decisions, you’ll modernize services and make the collection more discoverable.
Key responsibilities
- Run complete library operations: acquisitions, technical processing (MARC entry, barcoding), circulation, reservations, and overdue control.
- Maintain standards: implement DDC classification, authority control, and clean metadata for fast retrieval and accurate OPAC results.
- Administer ILS/OPAC (e.g., Koha or equivalent): patron records, backups, usage analytics, and role-based access in coordination with IT.
- Develop collections: balance print and digital resources; conduct gap analyses; manage annual weeding and preservation plans.
- Deliver reference & research support: student orientations, database search strategies, citation basics, and guided literature searches.
- Compliance & SOPs: draft/update lending rules, handling guidelines, stock verification schedules, and disaster-recovery checklists.
- Vendor & budgeting support: prepare specs, evaluate quotations, and maintain transparent records for audits.
- Reporting & insights: monthly dashboards—circulation trends, most-borrowed titles, subject coverage, and requests fulfilled.
- Reading culture: book clubs, author spotlights, thematic displays, and reading challenges tailored to different grades.
- Team & stakeholder engagement: mentor assistants/volunteers; coordinate with teachers, exam cell, and administration.
Required qualifications & experience
- Education: Master’s in Library & Information Science (MLIS).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years (60+ months) in reputable academic libraries with visible contributions to automation or service quality.

- A visible, calendarized reading program with participation metrics.
Preferred exposure (nice to have)
