Manager Electrical and Mechanical Job in Karachi – KW&SC KWSSIP-II
The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), a leading public utility established under the KW&SC Act, 2023, is responsible for delivering clean drinking water and efficient sewerage services to Karachi. As part of an ongoing transformation and major infrastructure reforms, KW&SC is implementing the Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Program (KWSSIP-II), supported by financing from the World Bank, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
To strengthen its project delivery capacity, KW&SC is hiring experienced professionals for the role of Manager Electrical and Mechanical under KWSSIP-II. This leadership role is critical for overseeing complex rehabilitation and upgrade projects involving major water treatment and energy efficiency interventions in Karachi.
Role Overview
The Manager Electrical and Mechanical will supervise a cluster of contracts covering the rehabilitation of water filtration plants, energy optimization initiatives, and utility infrastructure enhancements. The role requires deep technical expertise and proven experience managing large IFI-funded engineering projects.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
A Master’s degree (preferred) or a minimum 16-year Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
General Experience
10 to 15 years of progressive experience in planning, designing, managing, or executing large water or sewerage infrastructure projects.
Specific Experience
• Design, rehabilitation, or construction of water treatment and filtration plants
• Implementation of energy efficiency measures such as audits, pumping optimization, and mechanical/electrical upgrades
• Management of complex Design-Build (D-B) or EPC contracts
• Experience with IFI-funded projects (World Bank, EIB, ADB, etc.) and familiarity with procurement, fiduciary, and environmental/social compliance standards
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of water utility O&M, NRW reduction, SCADA systems, and performance monitoring.
Soft Skills
High-level communication, negotiation, coordination, and reporting abilities, with strong experience working with government bodies, consultants, contractors, and international partners.
Age Requirement
Applicants must be above 45 and not older than 62 years.
Tenure
Three-year contract, extendable based on mutually agreed terms.
