Key Responsibilities
Under MEPCO Jobs 2026, the Chief HSEQ will be responsible for building and leading enterprise-wide systems that ensure safety, environmental compliance, and quality excellence:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve Safety Management Systems (SMS/PSM/HSEQ) in line with NEPRA regulations and international best practices.
- Develop and enforce HSEQ policies, SOPs, and performance benchmarks to strengthen workplace safety and operational efficiency.
- Lead Occupational Health & Hygiene programs across MEPCO operations.
- Implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) and QA/QC standards compliant with ISO 9001.
- Represent MEPCO before NEPRA, Ministry of Energy, and other regulatory authorities.
- Establish and monitor Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Oversee environmental impact assessments for new and ongoing projects.
- Drive pollution control, energy conservation, and sustainability initiatives.
- Promote a strong safety culture through cross-functional collaboration and employee engagement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a 16-year degree in TQM, Environment, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 20 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in senior supervisory or consultancy roles in process safety, occupational health, quality, and environmental management systems.
- Additional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, HAZOP, NFPA, ISO standards, Stress Management, Mental Therapy, or NLP will be considered an advantage.
- Proven experience implementing HSEQ Management Systems in recognized public or private sector power organizations.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 62 years at the closing date
- No age relaxation is admissible.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly Salary: PKR 800,000 to PKR 1,000,000 (market-based, negotiable based on experience and expertise).
- Executive-level benefits and facilities as per MEPCO policy.
- Annual performance appraisal by the MEPCO Board of Directors.
- This is a contractual, non-pensionable position with no conversion to permanent employment.
