About the Role — Director General IT (MP-II)
The Director General IT MOITT role is a senior leadership position responsible for planning, executing, and governing large-scale digital programs under the Government of Pakistan’s Digital Nation Pakistan vision. As Director General IT MOITT, you’ll align enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, cloud adoption, data governance, and citizen-facing digital services across the federal landscape in collaboration with ministries, regulators, and public sector entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for national ICT initiatives, ensuring measurable delivery against the Digital Pakistan roadmap.
- Define and enforce enterprise architecture, interoperability, and data standards across government platforms.
- Oversee cybersecurity posture (policy, risk, compliance, incident readiness) and coordinate with relevant agencies.
- Lead program governance for complex, multi-stakeholder projects; manage vendors, SLAs, and budgetary controls.
- Champion cloud-first, API-first, and reusable component strategies to accelerate public service rollout.
- Institutionalize monitoring & evaluation, OKRs/KPIs, and transparent reporting to stakeholders.
- Build capacity: mentor cross-functional teams and cultivate public–private innovation partnerships.
- Ensure legal/regulatory alignment (privacy, data protection, procurement, audit) and change management across adopters.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel as Director General IT MOITT, you should demonstrate:
- Advanced education in Computer Science/IT/Engineering/Information Security/Management or closely related field (professional certifications in cloud, security, or enterprise architecture are a plus).
- Proven leadership of nationwide or enterprise-scale IT programs (policy, platforms, cybersecurity, data, or cloud).
- Depth in solution architecture, program & portfolio management, and vendor governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive reporting skills.
Minimum Experience: Substantial post-qualification leadership experience managing complex ICT portfolios at scale (public sector, regulator, or large enterprise preferred).
