The Deputy Manager CPP (Tanker) role integrates commercial analysis with daily voyage management. You will study CPP market trends, track TCE economics, evaluate laycan options, and recommend fixtures under prudent risk management. You’ll draft and vet charter party clauses in line with PNSC’s risk appetite, ensure HSE and vetting standards are upheld, and coordinate closely with operations for demurrage avoidance and cost control. Eligibility and Experience
Option 1 (Maritime Mastery):
- Master Mariner (FG) with sailing experience on tankers in senior capacity, preferably with 2+ years in a commercial division or at a reputable tanker owning/operating/management company—ideally with tanker chartering exposure.
Option 2 (Business Track):
- MBA in Maritime Studies / Logistics / Finance / Marketing from an HEC-recognized institute plus minimum 5 years ashore in the commercial division of a ship owning company / tanker commercial operations / ship management, preferably with tanker chartering experience.
Preferred Qualifications (additive advantages):
- Ship Command Experience
- MICS (Member, Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers)
Responsibilities
- Chartering & Commercial: Source cargoes, review market reports, analyze routes, bunker costs, and TCE; recommend fixtures that align with revenue, risk, and utilization targets.
- Charter Party & Contracts: Draft/review CP terms (laytime, NOR, pumping warranties, vetting, sanctions, off-hire, liens, indemnities); coordinate approvals and maintain standard clause libraries.
- Voyage Management: Work with operations for bunkering, routing, port rotation, laytime tracking, and demurrage/despatch calculations; minimize delays and cost leakages.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Interface with brokers, cargo owners, terminals, agents, P&I/insurers, and class; maintain transparent communications and documentation trails.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to international regulations, vetting (e.g., SIRE), terminal requirements, and corporate HSE policies; support incident reporting and corrective actions.
- Analytics & Reporting: Build dashboards on voyage economics, CP compliance, off-hire, and claims; prepare weekly/monthly performance reviews for leadership.
- Market Intelligence: Track tanker indices, freight assessments, tonnage lists, congestion trends, and geopolitical/sanctions risks that may affect routing and rates.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements for laytime handling, claims management, and digital documentation.
