Key responsibilities (indicative)

  • Surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, filling, staining) for wooden furniture, wall cladding, doors, frames, and fixtures
  • Application of sealers, lacquers, varnishes, melamine, and polyurethane finishes as appropriate
  • Color-matching, touch-ups, and restoration to meet institutional standards
  • Safe handling and storage of finishing materials, thinners, and tools
  • Preventive maintenance schedules and record-keeping (job cards, materials used)
  • Coordination with carpentry, electrical, housekeeping, and administration teams for site readiness and handover
  • Adherence to safety, ventilation, and waste-disposal protocols

Competencies & preferred profile

  • Hands-on polishing experience in government, institutional, hospitality, or commercial settings
