About the Department

The Directorate General of Archaeology, Government of Punjab, under the Tourism, Archaeology, and Museums Department, is the lead authority for conserving and promoting Punjab’s cultural heritage. Based in Lahore, the department manages archaeological sites, monuments, and museums, ensuring the preservation of Pakistan’s rich history for future generations.


Position Overview

  • Job Title: Project Director (PPS-10)
  • Employment Type: Contract (Lump-sum basis with annual increment)
  • Location: Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan
  • Reporting To: Directorate General of Archaeology

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Program Management Unit (PMU) under the ADP Project “Punjab Tourism Rehabilitation and Revamping Projects.”
  • Manage project planning, execution, and monitoring of archaeological and heritage conservation works.
  • Ensure compliance with PEC/PCATP regulations and government procedures.
  • Supervise project teams, consultants, and contractors.
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to higher authorities.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for effective implementation of heritage rehabilitation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration from an HEC-recognized university.
  • PEC/PCATP registration (as applicable).

Experience Requirements

  • At least 25 years of relevant professional experience in project management and execution.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven expertise in heritage and conservation projects.
  • Strong background in leading large-scale infrastructure and cultural heritage initiatives.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in conservation and heritage preservation.
  • Budget planning and monitoring skills.
  • Familiarity with government rules and project regulations.
