Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for the role of Senior Infrastructure & Operations Specialist. This is a rare and critical position under salary scales 9-10 & 11 (as per ToR) for “Nadir” and “Ovil” posts. You will lead the design, deployment, operation and recovery of core ICT infrastructure, ensuring performance, availability and resilience in line with NADRA’s national mandate. You will guide day-to-day operations, develop documentation and enforce robust security and recovery procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the architecture of IT infrastructure including servers (Windows & Linux), storage, networking and virtualization platforms (e.g., EMC, NFS, ISCSI, SAN/NAS).
• Lead operations, ensuring system performance, availability, capacity planning and fault-tolerance.
• Implement and enforce security and risk mitigation controls across infrastructure.
• Develop, maintain and test Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery plans (BCP/DR) including backups, fail-over, replication and recovery in multi-site environments.
• Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for operations teams.
• Work closely with senior leadership to align infrastructure strategy with organizational goals and ensure efficiency, scalability and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor emerging technologies and best practices and recommend upgrades or enhancements.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• A four-year Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent – mandatory.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on professional experience in infrastructure operations, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven experience with enterprise-level infrastructure: servers (Windows & Linux), virtualization, storage, backups, disaster recovery engine.
• Experience in data-centre operations and large-scale ICT deployments.
• Strong knowledge of system security, access control, risk assessment and compliance standards.
• Preferred: Certification(s) in Linux, Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, Storage Management or similar.
