Tens of thousands of demonstrators from across Karachi converged on the broad boulevard of Shahrah-e-Quaideen on Sunday for a massive Gaza Solidarity March, staging one of the largest public rallies in the metropolis this year. Organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi, the demonstration drew families, civic professionals, trade union representatives, and student delegations to express resolute public solidarity with Palestinians and demand urgent global diplomatic intervention.

The vast gathering stretched across several kilometers from the Mazar-e-Quaid intersection toward the Society interchange, transforming the central thoroughfare into a sea of national and solidarity flags. Participants chanted slogans condemning civilian casualties, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and demanding the swift establishment of unrestricted humanitarian aid corridors.

Leadership Urges Unified Diplomatic Front Across Muslim States

Addressing the massive assembly from a central staging platform, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman stressed that the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza demands decisive, coordinated political and economic action rather than symbolic statements. He called upon the government of Pakistan and fellow Muslim nations to take an assertive stance at the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and international judicial forums.

The JI leadership urged regional states to consolidate defense dialogue, advocate vigorously for humanitarian relief convoys, and hold international institutions accountable for enforcing International Court of Justice rulings. Civic leaders and representatives from various professional associations echoed the appeal, emphasizing that public sentiment across Pakistan remains steadfastly aligned with civilian relief initiatives.

Comprehensive Security and Civic Arrangements

The Karachi Traffic Police and Sindh Police deployed extensive security cordons, surveillance drones, and reserve personnel along peripheral arteries to ensure the peaceful conduct of the rally. Dedicated traffic diversion plans directed vehicular flows toward Shahrah-e-Faisal and Kashmir Road, allowing the massive pedestrian congregation to proceed without incident.

Volunteer medical camps, emergency ambulances provided by Rescue services, and water distribution points were established throughout the procession route by community organizations. Organizers noted that similar civic expressions of solidarity will continue across major urban centers nationwide.
